France are the current holders of the World Cup trophy, having won the tournament in 2018, in Russia. They are in Group D, together with Australia, Denmark and Tunisia.

14th of November update: Presnel Kimpembe was replaced by Axel Disasi, due to Kimpembe not recovering from his previous injury in due time.

16.11 update: Christopher Nkunku withdrew injured on the 15th of November and was replaced by Randal Kolo Muani.

19.11 update: Karim Benzema withrew injured. Replacement uncertain.
