France scored early on, after a long range strike from Real Madrid’s Tchouameni. The rest of the first half had no more goals and not a lot of clear cut chances either. England however were the more dangerous side, France was trying to surprise them on the counter. The English even had a penalty call, ultimately not given by the ref. They did get those calls in the second half though…

England started the second half better, continuing to put pressure on their rivals. They got a penalty in the 52nd minute after a Tchouameni foul on Saka. Kane converted the spot kick, beating his Tottenham team mate, Hugo Lloris. The match became quite even once more, however France took the lead by Giroud, after a brilliant Griezmann cross. England got another penalty in the 82nd minute, after a foul by Theo Hernandez on sub, Mason Mount. Kane missed this one and England did not have the power to score again.

France is in the Semi Finals of the World Cup once more! They are going to be facing the surprise team, Morocco!
