Argentina started the game in a much more convicing manner and they got another penalty early on, their 5th of the tournament in the 21st minute. Messi converted it to make it 1-0 for Argentina. Di Maria scored a second goal in the 36th minute, after a beautiful counter by Argentina, to make it 2-0. Mac Alister assist.
The second half did not offer a lot of excitment until the 80th minute. France got a penalty in the 80th minute, which Mbappe converted. France finally started playing football and Mbappe added a second one, a few minutes later.
Messi scored in extra time, only for France to get a penalty and equalise in the dying minutes.
Penalties. The first time since 2006 in which the World Champions is decided on spot kicks. Argentina were the more composed team, they take the trophy home. MESSI wins his first World Cup!
