To conclude the matchday, we had El Clasico, Barcelona versus Real Madrid. Even though Barcelona already had a huge advantage over Real Madrid, the Spanish derby is always highly anticipated. Despite Real Madrid opening the scoring thanks to an Araujo own goal, the final score was 2-1, Barcelona securing the 3 points. Sergi Roberto equalized in the 45th minute and Kessie scored in injury time.

Barcelona are first and with a 12 points lead over their eternal rivals, the championship looks as good as settled. As mentioned, Atletico are 3rd, a further 5 points behind city rivals, Real Madrid. Real Sociedad are 4th, 3 points above Real betis.
Elche are still last and they are all but doomed to get relegated. Almeria and Valencia are 18th and 19th with 26 points each, one less than Espanyol. We also have a trio of teams with one more point(28), as Sevilla, Cadiz and Valladolid are still not out of the woods.
