There was a mid-week round in Ligue 1. Lens fails to beat Strasbourg, while Marseille are in top form, as PSG extends it’s lead at the top. Let’s see how Matchay 18 went in France!

The round opened with Reims keeping up their decent form, as they beat Ajaccio. Wasn’t a good round for fellow relegation candidates though, as Auxerre lost to Toulouse 5-0. Lyon doesn’t quite manage to string good results together, as they draw at Nantes. PSG on the other hand, with Messi back, beat last placed Angers. The score of the round comes from Nice, as they demolished Montpelier, 6-1. Possibly the surprise of the round is penultimate placed Strasbourg managing a 2-2 draw versus second placed Lens, who have beaten PSG not so long ago.

PSG are now 6 points clear off Lens. Whether something can happen or not to dethrone PSG is a good question, however the battle for the rest of the European places will be interesting, as 3rd placed Marseille are only 2 points behind Lens. Rennes are a further 5 points behind, same amount of points as Monaco.

At the bottom of the table, Angers are still yet to hit double digits, they stand 20th with 8 points. Strasbourg are on 12, while Auxerre are sitting on 13th.
