Benfica – Inter
Inter has been struggling in Serie A recently, while Benfica are cruising through the Portuguese league, with only one defeat next to their name. They have also been consistent in the Champions League, as they have went through from a group consisting of PSG and Juventus, then made easy work of Brugge. Not to take away anything from Inter though, they have left Barcelona hanging in the group stage, then eliminated another Portuguese side, Porto. It’s a hard bet to make, but we believe Benfica are strong enough at the moment to go through, but it’s gonna be close.

Manchester City – FC Bayern München
What a matchup… Bayern shocked the footballing world today, after the sacking of Nagelsmann, and they’ve hired former UCL winner, Thomas Tuchel. Does this mean they are the favorites for this tie? Generation Football’s guess is: NO! Pep has been at City for quite a few years now and even though they are yet to win the UCL, they have the experience to beat a team like Bayern, who will look more and more like a work in progress. Our bet is Man City, but as football fans we should be very excited for a tie like this!

Milan – Napoli
Napoli does not have the pedigree of Milan in the Champions League, far from it, however there is no denying that Spalletti’s team is much better this season than Pioli’s. There is no contest in Serie A and Napoli has been reliable in the UCL as well. Even though Milan did manage to go through from a tough group, then eliminated Spurs, we believe the Napolitans are the clear favorites for this one and they will go through. There is something about Milan and the UCL though, so we cannot rule them out.

Real Madrid – Chelsea
It’s Real Madrid versus Chelsea yet again, for the 3rd season in a row. Despite struggling in the Premier League, Potter’s side has been good in Europe, even eliminating Bundesliga leaders, Dortmund. Real Madrid has also been struggling in the league, but this is completely different in Spain, as even though they have a 12 deficit over Barcelona, they are still on 2nd place, compared to Chelsea’s 9th. When it comes to Europe however, experience and clutchness counts and there is no one like Ancelotti and Real Madrid when it comes to that. Our pick is Real Madrid.
