Liverpool continue to struggle, as they’ve managed only a 0-0 draw against Everton, while Brentford beat Leeds. Chelsea are back to winning ways, same goes for Tottenham and surprise package, Brighton. City drew with Aston Villa, with Haaland scoring once more. The most interesting match of the round was the last one, as Man Utd battled against top dogs, Arsenal. After a thrilling game, MU got away with the win, 3-1, as Rashford netted 2 and assisted one more for new guy, Antony. Both Ronaldo and Casemiro started from the bench for ten Haag’s team.

Standings

We have jumped ahead in time, as the Prem had a midweek round, which we didn’t cover. After 6 games, Arsenal are still first, but their lead is only 1 point ahead of followers, Man City and Tottenham. Surprisingly, Brighton are still holding onto their UCL spot, however the mighty trio of Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool are on their tail. At the other end of the table, it’s not looking good for Leicester, especially considering they’ve sold Fofana and failed to strengthen their squad. 4 teams on 4 points, a bunch on 6 and 7, so we can definitely expect a tough tough relegation battle this season.

The highlight of the round was definitely the battle of the two teams with maximum points, Real Madrid versus Real Betis. Real Madrid have had a history of being unable to score against Betis, but this changed, as Vini Jr and Rodrygo both scored, with Madrid winning 2-1. The other Andalusian side, Sevilla also had a tough challenge, as they faced Barcelona at home, losing 3-0 at the end. Sociedad and Atletico drew, while Villareal demolished Elche. After 2 losses, Gattuso’s Valencia got back to winning ways, demolishing Getafe 5-1. Valladolid versus Almeria to be played on Monday.

Standings

Speaking of Getafe, it’s not looking good for them. They have only 1 point after 4 rounds, same as Sevilla, Valladolid and Elche. Cadiz are dead last, with 0 points. Note, Valladolid have a game in hand. Real Madrid sit top of the table with maximum points, being the only team from the top 5 leagues who are yet to lose a point, closely followed by Barcelona and Emery’s Villareal. Betis, Osasuna, Bilbao, Atletico, Celta and Sociedad are close by.

After last week’s wins, it seemed things are getting back to normal for Leverkusen and RB Leipzig, but that is clearly not the case. While Leverkusen suffered a narrow loss at home versus surprise leaders, Freiburg, RB Leipzig got obliterated by Eintracht Frankfurt. It would seem Tedesco’s days in Leipzig are numbered. Bayern continued in the same tone as last round, as they’ve drawn another match, this time versus Union Berlin. Dortmund scrapped a 1-0 victory against Hoffenheim, with the eternal Reus scoring the only goal of the match.

Standings

Even though it’s still early days, Christian Streich’s Freiburg are putting up quite a show, as they are our surprising leaders, level on points with Dortmund. With Leipzig and Leverkusen still struggling, Bayern and Union are the ones to complete top 4. Bochum are starting to look desperate, as they have zero points from 5 games, while the likes of Schalke, Augsburg and Wolfsburg will also have their work cut out for them in order to avoid relegation.

With 3 matches still to go in Serie A for this round, this is definitely not a complete roundup, especially considering one of the matches is featuring Atalanta, who could become leaders. The biggest fixture of the matchday was undoubtedly The Derby della Madonnina, where Milan squared off against Inter. Milan managed to take the 3 points, with Leao is great form, but Giroud also on the scoresheet. After 2 draws, Spalletti’s Napoli are back to winning ways. Meanwhile Juventus barely managed a draw against Fiorentina, while Udinese demolished Roma, to offer Mourinho his first defeat of the season.

Standings

As previously mentioned, Atalanta could become leaders after tonight’s matches. Napoli are currently holding this spot, same amount of points as Milan. Udinese, Roma, Juventus and Inter are also close, with Lazio being just one point off, with 8 points. Even though a game in hand, Monza are also part of the “0 points club”, but it is also looking hard for Cremonese.

Marseilla, Lyon and PSG all won their games in convincing fashion. Probably the most surprising thing was that Neymar had no goal contribution this weekend, as he was Mbappe’s sub and got introduced around the 70th minute mark. Still, after 6 games, Neymar and Mbappe are both on 7 goals, with the closest being Balogun from Reims and Florian Sotoca from Lens, both on 5.

Standings

Unsurprisingly, PSG are leaders. A bit more surprisingly, Marseille are on level of points, but Lyon could also join them at the top, if they win their game in hand. Lens are also top 4, while Lille are a bit further down, at 5. AS Monaco on the other hand are having an unremarkable start of the season, as they stand 10th, with only 8 points. We do not have any teams with 0 points in France, however Ajaccio and Angers are not much better off, with 1 and 2 points respectively. Given 4 teams get relegated from Ligue 1, it will be a tough season ahead for a lot of teams.
